The invention relates to a method for combining glass particles to a bound, load-bearing glass compound, wherein the glass particles, without further admixture of substances and without the shape or size of the separate particles being subject to any further requirements, are fused together without liquefaction of the cores of the separate particles. The invention also relates to the material thus obtained.
