PURPOSE:To obtain base cloth made of specific alkali-soluble polyester yarn which satisfies specific criteria at the same time and can substitute a water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol-based yarn, and capable of producing a high-quality chemical lace at a low cost. CONSTITUTION:This base cloth is produced of warp and weft yarns both of which are polyester yarn containing an ethylene terephthalate unit as the main recurring unit and obtained by copolymerizing with sulfoisophthalic acid, a polyoxyethylene glycol and a polyethylene glycol. The polyester yarn satisfies the following criteria at the same time. (a) Alkali-weight-reducing speed is that alkali-weight-reducing at 10% sodium hydroxide at 95 deg.C is completed within 60min. (b) Elongation by JIS general woven fabric testing method 1096-1099 is <=10%. (c) Density ratio of weft/warp is 0.6-1.2 and when measured by the above JIS standard method, slipping resistance (B method) is <45mm in the sum of weft and warp. A chemical lace is produced at a low cost by replacing water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol based yarn with the polyester yarn. The polyester yarn is applicable on WJL (water jet loom) and the designing of the base cloth can be performed freely. |
