PURPOSE:To obtain a sizing agent superior in thermal decomposition (desizing property) to a conventional product and free from troubles of coloring in heat cleaning by compounding a warp-sizing agent for glass woven-fabric used as a reinforcing material for a plastic article with a specific thermal decomposition-accelerating substance. CONSTITUTION:A dispersion liquid is prepared by compounding a hydrophilic high molecular substance selected from PVA, a water emulsion-type acrylic resin, a water resin, a water-soluble acrylic resin, a polycrylamide, etc., their derivatives, their modified products and their copolymers, etc., as the main component of a sizing agent, with a thermal decomposition-accelerating substance e.g. a compound of a group 8 element (preferably e.g. ferric sulfate, ferric nitrate, ferric chloride or ferric carbonate) in an amount of 0.03-1wt.% based on the solid component of the sizing agent. The prepared dispersion liquid is applied on a glass warp of glass woven fabric and the applied material is dried. The sizing agent is water soluble and excellent in adhesion. Further, the glass fabric made of the warp treated with the sizing agent exhibits excellent property in thermal decomposition and can easily be desized with heat cleaning at a relatively low temperature even in a reducing atmosphere without deteriorating the excellent performances. |
