PURPOSE: To provide an automatically advancing method and apparatus capable of avoiding inspection required heretofore by pre-treating mold halves so that a contact lens is bonded to the pre-treated mold halves when a mold is opened. CONSTITUTION: The regions to be treated of mold halves are pretreated by corona discharge and this pre-treatment is not technically complicated and ensures the certain adhesion of a contact lens to the mold halves to be treated. Pref., the male mold half 2 is pre-treated. In this case, the further treatment of the contact lens is especially simple and the contact lens bonded to the male mold half 2 can certainly slide over the projection 10 of the female mold half 1 when the mold is opened and, therefore, the further treatment can be adapted to the male mold half 2 to which the contact lens adheres.
