PURPOSE:To make it possible to accomplish the subsequent range finding operation merely through the clearance of electric signals, when the previous range finding operation has failed, by completely separating the range finding operation of an automatic focusing camera and the focusing operation of a photographic lens. CONSTITUTION:When a winding lever 116 is wound up prior to the photography, a lever 130 depresses the pin 136 of the lens mount 115 of a photographic lens 114 so that the lens 114 may be let off against the action of a spring 137. When the lever 116 is turned a preset angle, the lever 130 is retained by another lever 133 so that the lens 114 is held under the condition, in which it is let off to the proximity. On the other hand, a pulse generating plate 97 and a plane mirror 83 are turned in advance to the initial positions. If an Operator scales the object through a finder and depressed an operating member 103, a switch 105 is turned on so that a range finding circuit 142 is brought into operating condition. At the same time, the pulse generating plate 97 and the plane mirror 83 follow their original passages to turn so that the extent of rotations of the mirror 83 until a coincidence signal is generated is held as the sum of the pulses generated in a range finding circuit 142. If the member 103 is further depressed after the range finding operation is funished, the lens mount 115 is turned to a point where the number of pulses corresponding to the stored range finding signals are generated. |
