PURPOSE:To provide a nitrogen oxide sensor which operates at high temperature of 500 deg.C or higher, is sensitive also to NO2 and NO gas, excellent in responsiveness, and stable in output. CONSTITUTION:A nitrogen oxide sensor is provided with paired electrodes 2, 3, 7, 8, 12, and 13 so that ion conductive solid electrolytes 1, 6, and 11 can be used as partitions. One side electrodes 2, 7, and 12 are formed of an oxide of perovskite structure or K2NiF4 structure, or substance containing the oxide. It detects an electromotive force generates by a difference in concentration of nitrogen oxide across the electrodes. |
