PURPOSE: To prevent an artifact by translating a patient in accordance with that the projections of the patient at various beam angles are obtained, and prior to the reproduction of a tomographic image from the obtained projection data, applying weighted treatment to the intensity signals relating to the first and second X-rays. CONSTITUTION: In order to irradiate certain volume elements of a subject (patient) 42 with the first and second X-rays at the first and second beam angles, while an X-ray source 10 installed on a ring-shaped gantry revolves, the patient is moved translationally along the translation axis with the table 46. The first and second X-rays are set up in relation to the beam angles which differ by integral times of 2πradian. Prior to reproducing a tomographic image from the obtained projection data, weighted treatment is applied to the intensity signals relating to the first and second X-rays so as to generate weighted intensity signals. Upon receiving the weighted intensity signals, the tomographic image is reproduced from the weighted intensity signals, and the image is displayed on a display device.
