<p>PURPOSE:To provide high conversion efficiency into an alcohol even in a reaction initial stage at the time when a carbonic acid ester is produced by reaction of an alcohol and CO and O2 in the presence of a catalyst by carrying a copper halide and a carbonate salt on a porous carrier as a catalyst for carbonic acid ester production by oxidation-carbonylation of an alcohol. CONSTITUTION:A copper halide and a carbonate salt are carried on a porous carrier to give a catalyst for carbonic acid ester production by oxidation- carbonylation of an alcohol. In a method to produce a carbonic acid ester by reaction of an alcohol and CO and O2 in the presence of the catalyst, an alcohol and CO and O2 are reacted in gas-phase reaction conditions. As a result, the catalyst production process is simplified as compared with a conventional production process and a catalyst consisting of oxidized copper halide for carbonic acid ester production is obtained at high yield. A carbonic acid ester is produced highly selectively by utilizing the catalyst in highly active conditions. Also, since the production of a corrosive gas such as methyl chloride, etc., is suppressed to extremely low level, no noble substance is needed as a material for a reaction apparatus.</p> |
