<p>PURPOSE:To provide a means for realizing a high luminance liq. crystal display device, etc., in a color filter to be used in a liq. crystal display device, etc., by efficiently utilizing an oblique incident light passed through a liq. crystal layer for display. CONSTITUTION:This color filter consists of a transparent substrate, a colored pattern group 21 formed on a substrate and consisting of color filter elements 31 and a light shading pattern 41 having an opening in each color filter element 31 of the group 21 of the colored pattern. The area of the opening of the light shading pattern 41 on the emitted light side is made larger than that on the incident light side. In this case, as the shape of the light shading pattern 41, the light shading pattern is embedded in the trapezoidal color filter element 31, a light shading pattern is formed, a light shading pattern having a T-shaped section and extending to the upper surface and a gap are formed in the spaced color filter elements 31, or a light shading pattern is formed on the boundary of the color filter element 31 formed without forming a gap.</p> |
