There are provided a method for making a quality decision for an electrical discharge machined work, and an apparatus for making a quality decision thereof, in which a quality decision for the electrical discharge machined work can easily be made in a wire electrical discharge machining apparatus. The method comprises the steps of: storing time-dependent machining data for a machined work which is non-defective (in Steps S1 to S7); defining that time-dependent machining data as a parameter for the quality decision; monitoring, with respect to a machined work requiring the quality decision, the same time-dependent machining data as that stored for the non-defective work (in Steps S12 and S13); and making the quality decision for the machined work by comparing the monitored time-dependent machining data with the stored time-dependent machining data (in Step S14). <IMAGE>
