APPARATUS FOR RECYCLING WASTE PLASTIC

PURPOSE:To improve the product quality by installing a heater for heating the vapor of a liq. thermal decomposition product between a thermal decomposition vessel and a catalytic decomposition vessel and connecting a supply line for supplying a hydrocarbon gas or an inert gas to a space between the thermal decomposition vessel and the heater. CONSTITUTION:A molten plastic in a thermal decomposition vessel 1 is circulated through a heating oven 2 to be thermally decomposed. The vapor of a liq. thermal decomposition product is led to a catalytic decomposition vessel 3 contg. a synthetic zeolite catalyst. The vapor catalytically decomposed or modified at the vessel 3 is condensed with a cooler 4 and divided into a heavy oil fraction, a light oil fraction. and a gas at a receiver 5. A hydrocarbon gas (e.g. LPG) or an inert gas (e.g. N3) is supplied to the vessel 3 by installing a heater 6 between the vessel 1 and the vessel 3 and a gas supply port 7 between the vessel 1 and the heater 6. The heater 6 keeps the temp. inside the vessel 3 at about 380-420 deg.C by detecting the temp. with a thermometer 3a, thus giving a high-quality oil contg. neither gum nor wax.
