PURPOSE:To obtain a microorganism producing a new esterase having high optical selectivity. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism capable of using for hydrolysis of an ester of a 2-(4-hydroxy or methoxy)phenylpropionic acid derivative of a racemic modification having high optical selectivity, e.g. Bacillus licheniformis SLM-3 (FERM P-13739), Bacillus mycoides SLA-11 (FERM P-13740) or Bacillus megaterium SHM-2 (FERM P-13741). |
