<p>PURPOSE:To avoid operating of a safety device protecting occupants when no occupants are practically affected, even if a vehicle is in contact with other vehicles while running, and have the safety device operated only when it is necessary to protect the occupants. CONSTITUTION:When it is judged by a judging means 6 based on a relative distance detected by a distance sensor 1 and a relative speed computed by a relative speed computing means 5 that your own vehicle possibly collides against an object in front in the moving direction, time required till the vehicle collides is computed by a collision time computing means 7, a specified time range which can detects a collision signal from a pressure sensing sensor 2, is then set on the basis of the aforesaid time required, and when a collision signal by the pressure sensing sensor 2 is outputted within the specified time range, a safety means 3 is thereby operated by a safety control means 9.</p> |
