The invention provides a method of assembling a heat exchanger from a varying number of layers of plastic material. Joining the various sheets together, e.g. by means of gluing or welding, according to a specific flow pattern produces an inherently flexible heat exchanger which thus includes a number of tubular pipes or ducts. As the dimensions of a heat exchanger increase, it becomes necessary to prevent sagging and tearing of the sheeting when suspended. To this end, use can be made of a so-called stabilizing or supporting plastic sheet having high strength characteristics, to which a heat exchanger according to the invention is applied, e.g. on both sides. Arranging openings in the supporting plastic sheet allows the pipes and ducts on both sides of the supporting plastic sheet to be made to communicate with one another. Heat exchangers thus fabricated are particularly suitable for being suspended and readily moved as required for greenhouse cultivation.
