PURPOSE: To provide a bone fixation device that has a head end, a shaft part with threads at least partly formed and a front part with the top, and can be inserted into a bone without previous treatment because the front part adjacent to the tip is shaped as a drill. CONSTITUTION: This bone fixation device has a head end, a shaft part 3 in which threads 2 are formed at least partly and a front part 4 with the top 5, and the front part 4 is formed as a drill. The front part 4 formed as a drill is self-boring/self-tapping type, and the maximum outer diameter of the front part 4 formed as a drill is a little wider than the diameter of the root of the threads 2. Or the front part 4 is formed as a spiral drill, and is formed as a two cutting edges drill. The length of the front part 4 is 3-18 mm (preferably 4-12 mm), and the threads part 2 is extended to the front part 4. |
