PURPOSE:To provide a particle image analyzer which is suitable for improvement of reliability of the apparatus and the miniaturization thereof by allowing the preservation of images of more particles with the minimization of the amount of a background image data of the particles. CONSTITUTION:A flash lamp 8 is provided to obtain a still image of particles in a liquid existing in an imagin area of a flow cell 7 and a TV camera 13 to take an particle image. In addition, an A/D conversion section 14 is provided to convert an analog signal of the TV camera 13 into a digital signal, an image memory 15 to store an original image, a feature extraction circuit 16 to calculate the feature quantities such as the area. circumferential length and the like of the particles, a processor 17 to sort the particles and to calculate an area for cutting out the particle image based on the feature quantities, an image cutting out circuit 18 to cut the particle image out of the original image, an image buffer 19 to store the image cut out, an image display control circuit 20 to control the display of the image and a monitor 21 to display the particle image in the image cut out buffer 19. |
