A PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF PYRIDINE DERIVATIVES

This pyridine derivative of formula (I) is used for preparing a benzimidazole deriv. having stomach acid secretion inhibition activity. The manufacturing method comprises : a) production of pyperidine deriv of (IV) by cycloaddition 2-methyl-3-methoxy-1,3-pentadien with imine compd of (III) under an acid of catalyst; and b) aromatic cyclization of the piperidine(IV) by addition barium hydroxide in methanol or ethanol at 20-50 degree C for 6-10hrs. The above acid acatalyst is selected from titanium tetrachloride, boron trifluoride diethyl ether complex, and diethylaluminum chloride.
