A PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF PYRIDINE DERIVATIVES

This pyridine derivative of formula (I) is used for preparing a benzimidazole deriv. having stomach acid secretion inhibition activity. The method comprises the steps of: a) in situ refluxing toluen sulfonamide with thionyl chloride at 80-120 deg. C, and removing thionyl chloride; b)reacting with n-butyl glyoxylate and aluminum chloride; c) reacting with 2-methyl-3-methoxy-1,3-pentadien in sequence, and producing the piperidine of (V); and d) reacting piperidine of (V) in alkaline alcohol, making carboxypyridine; and e) reducing with a metal reducing catalyst. The above reducing catalyst is lithium aluminumhydride or sodium borohydride.
