PURPOSE:To provide a carrier supporting structure capable of preventing damage caused by heat expansion of a cylindrical metallic foil layered formed catalyst carrier equipped with a center electrode. CONSTITUTION:One-side ends of relax members 41-44 are joined to a casing, and is the other-side ends are joined to the outer circumference of a cylindrical metallic foil layered body. The casing side joint parts 41a-44a of respective relax members 41, 42 are arranged near the part 5 where a center electrode 1 penetrates the casing, and the relax member is formed so that a transfer direction and a transfer quantity in relation to the metallic foil layered body casing generated by heat expansion of the relax member are substantially equal to the transfer direction and transfer quantity in relation to the metallic foil layered body casing generated by the heat expansion of the center electrode. |
