Adjustable mounting for accelerator pedal on motor vehicle

The accelerator pedal is supported by a mobile carrier that can be displaced by a drive. The pedal is mounted on the carrier by a pivot, and is linked to the accelerator cable (22) by a pivoted link mechanism (25,27) attached to the carrier. The link mechanism is mounted on a plate (19) fixed to the carrier. The mounting plate has a tab (20) bent at right angles to the plate to attach the sleeve (21) of the accelerator cable. The link (25) connected to the accelerator cable is pivoted from a fixed post (26) on the mounting plate (19). The end opposite the accelerator cable is coupled to the accelerator pedal by a short linkage (27) pivoted from the first link and (28) from the shaft (12) of the accelerator pedal. The position of the carrier is set by a screw drive which is driven (4) from an electric motor to allow remote operation of the adjustment.
