An open design, e.g. simulated cane, is produced in a plastic sheet by embossing the sheet to a depth greater than the thickness of the sheet, and thereafter separating from the sheet that portion which has been embossed and which extends below the lower surfaces thereof. Separation is by a slitter or shriver. Alternatively, a thin skin covering the whole lower surface of the sheet may be removed.</p> |
