<p>PURPOSE:To manufacture a chip resistor with excellent dimensional accuracy, and to obtain the highly reliable chip resistor by a method wherein a resistor and a protective film, etc., are formed onto an alumina substrate, a split groove is formed for desired chip size and the whole is split into chip pieces. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes 3, resistors 4 and protective films 5 are shaped onto an alumina substrate 1, and split grooves 6 are formed in desired chip size, then the whole is split. Consequently, chips having high dimensional accuracy are acquired. Size, in which the split grooves 6 are formed on a surface with an insulator layer 2A having low hardness formed onto the rear of the alumina substrate 1, is adopted, thus largely lengthening the lifetime of a machining blade for a device used for the alumina substrate 1, then manufacturing a chip resistor at low cost.</p> |
