PURPOSE:To simplify the control of the light intensity of light emitted from a light source and also to suppress the occurrence of the back staining of a transfer material at the time of transferring a developed image to the transfer material. CONSTITUTION:The intensity of the light emitted from the light source 32 is detected by a monitoring photosensor 48, and then, the intensity is transmitted to an image signal control circuit 46. In the image signal control circuit 46, the intensity of the light emitted from the light source 32 is controlled so as to be at a prescribed level based on the output of the photosensor 48 in an area other than an image signal writing period and also beyond a constant light quantity allowable extent. Thus, as compared with the case where the control of the light intensity is performed at every scanning line, the control of the light intensity is more simplified, and also, the frequency of the back staining of the transfer material at the time of transferring the developed image to the transfer material is more reduced as compared with the case where the control of the light intensity is performed at every page between the papers. |
