PURPOSE:To provide a device retrieving name of a foreigner concerned with high probability even when accurate KATAKANA (square form of Japanese syllabary) or Roman letter notation is not known. CONSTITUTION:The foreigner name retrieval device is provided with a 1st name storage means 1 storing retrieval foreigner names in KATAKANA or Roman letter notation, a 2nd name storage means 2 storing comparison object names in prescribed representation to discriminate the identification with the retrieved foreigner name, a country information registration means 3 in which country information representing an originally belonging language zone of the retrieved foreigner name, a conversion table 4 converting the foreigner name and the comparison object foreigner name in KATAKANA notation into an expression form, a conversion means 6 selecting the conversion table 4 base on the country information and converting the foreigner name and the comparison object foreigner name into prescribed expression form by using the selected conversion table, and a coincidence calculation means 7 calculating the coincidence rate of the foreigner name and the comparison object foreigner name after conversion. |
