PURPOSE:To miniaturize the mother board while corresponding to the resume function by providing a storage element for extension of the storage capacity of the main memory and a non-volatile storage element for data backup on the substrate of an extended storage device. CONSTITUTION:A main memory 2, single inline memory modules (SIMM) 10a and 10b set to receptacles 3a and 3b, etc., are mounted on a mother board 1. With respect to each of SIMMs 10a and 10b, plural storage elements for extension of the storage capacity of the main memory 2, for example, four DRAMs 12 and plural non-volatile storage elements for data backup, for example, four EEPROMs 13 are arranged on a substrate 11. SIMMs 10a and 10b are freely inserted to and extracted from receptacles 3a and 3b by plural contact parts 14 provided in the lower edge part of the substrate 11. For the purpose of preventing disappearance of data in the main memory 2 and DRAMs 12 at the time of a break of a main power source, the function to load these data to EEPROMs 13, namely, the resume function is provided. |
