PURPOSE:To produce a color filter substrate without inspecting presence or absence of pinholes, to eliminate light transmission from ends of a fixing frame and to make screen display with a high grade by forming colored resin layers on a metallic light shielding film in the peripheral part of a screen display region. CONSTITUTION:This color filter substrate consists of a transparent glass substrate 1, chromium thin films 2 which are formed in the inter-pixel parts of the screen display region (x) and the picture frame-like part (y) in the peripheral part, the colored resin layers 3R, 3G, 3B formed by superposing their ends on these chromium thin film 2 in the screen display region (x) and the colored resin layer 32 formed in superposition on the chromium thin films 2 in the picture frame-like part (y). Since the colored resin layer 32 is formed on the chromium thin film 2 in the peripheral part of the screen display region (x) the light transmission from the pinholes is prevented even if the pinholes are generated in the chromium thin film 2. Since the formation of the pinholes of the chromium thin film 2 and the colored resin layer 21 in the same part is hardly conceivable, an inspection stage is omitted. |
