The grill protection system comprises a split hinge (6) which pivots the grill (9) around two parallel rotational axes (4,8). Rotation about one axis (4) opens the grill through 90 degrees and moves the other axis (8) outside the opening support. Rotation of the second axis closes the grill on the shutter opening. During its opening, the grill, which carries a handle (5) with a stud (3) on its end, can only pivot about the second axis when the rotation around the first axle is entirely effected. This is because the axis perimeter gyrates the stud which is then coincident with the opening axis of a piece (2) welded to the window frame (1). During closing by its handle, the grill is supported on the end of a leaf spring which pulls a cotter pin, carried by the spring, from its housing in the split hinge and allows rotation of the first axis.
