PURPOSE: To operate a processor module, a hard disk drive and a memory module by selectively and removably connecting the data processor base units of portable and setup type computers. CONSTITUTION: A module 10 connects with a base unit 12 via an interface 22, is packaged as one module and is selectively and removably installed in portable and desktop PCs as a host device. A bus 28 in the base unit 12 connects with an interface 26 and interconnects among component elements in the base unit 12. A connection slot 34 externally connects other peripheral equipment and an extended memory. Thereby, low-cost safety of security is extremely increased. Also, the upgrade of a CPU and hard disk performance can be attained by changing the modules.
