CONNECTION STRUCTURE FOR GATE VALVE

PURPOSE:To attain a connection structure which is hardly damaged at a boundary between a reciption port and a standing pipe by connecting a reciption port side processing piece to an inserting port side pressing piece by means of a connection member. CONSTITUTION:An inserting port 4 of a pipe body 3 is inserted into a reception port 2 of a gate valve 1. A rubber packing 21 is then sandwiched between an inner peripheral surface of the receiption port 2 and an outer peripheral surface of the inserting port 4, bringing about a water-tight condition. A receiption port side pressing piece 6 has an arcuate shape to be in close contact with substantially half of the outer peripheral surface of the reciption port 2. Its length is composed of a main body 61 having one fifth of length E of the reciption port 2, and a connection piece 62. Substantially whole circumference of the reciption port 2 is sandwiched between two reciption port side pressing pieces 6, 6 in a close fitting condition for reinforcing. An inserting port side pressing piece 7 is composed of an arcuate main body 71 in close contact with substantially the half of the outer peripheral surface of the inserting port 4 and a connection piece 72. When both side connection pieces 72 are connected to each other by means of a bolt and nut across the inserting port 4 and fastened, they are installed at the outer peripheral surface of the inserting port 4. A connection piece 8 connects the reception side pressing piece 6 to the inserting port side pressing piece 7. As a result, the inserting port is prevented from escaping from the reciption port.
