PURPOSE:To prevent abnormality of blow-out of an engine on the way by inhibiting interruption of the lockup even a speed change condition takes place in a lockup range, under such an operational condition that difference in engine rotational speed after and before the speed change becomes small. CONSTITUTION:Speed change of an automatic transmission 2 is controlled by a controller 9 via solenoids 6, 7 in response to throttle opening TH and vehicle speed, and then a torque converter 3 is lockup-controlled via a solenoid 8, and also speed change shock is preventing by interrupting lockup at the time of speed change in a lockup range. Unsual feeling caused by blow-out of engine on the way is further prevented by the controller 9 so as not to interrupt the lockup even during the speed change in the lockup range under such an operational condition that difference in engine rotational speeds before and after the speed change from the vehicle speed V and the throttle opening TH becomes small. |
