OPTICAL CONNECTOR AS WELL AS METHOD FOR COUPLING OPTICAL CONNECTOR AND OPTICAL FIBER

PURPOSE:To improve durability and reliability by intensifying coupling strength of a ferrule of an optical connector and a core of an optical fiber cable. CONSTITUTION:The inner peripheral surface of a core insertion hole 23a of the ferrule 23 is provided with internal thread-like grooves 23. The core 25 of the optical fiber cable 24 is inserted into a core insertion hole 23a and the outer peripheral surface of the ferrule 23 is fused by a heating jig for a specified period of time and is matched with the inside surface shape of the core insertion hole 23a. The core 25 is securely coupled to the ferrule 23 after curing of the core 25, by which the axial movement of the core 25 is prohibited.
