MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PURPOSE:To prevent bleeding-out in low-temp. and high-temp. environments and in a cycle environment, to produce a superior lubricating effect and to obtain a magnetic recording medium having a low rotation torque and excellent in wear resistance and durability by incorporating a specified lubricant into a magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic layer contg. ferromagnetic powder dispersed in a binder and further contg. unsatd. fatty acid diester of diol with unsatd. fatty acid as a lubricant is disposed on a nonmagnetic substrate. The diol is preferably ethylene glycol and the unsatd. fatty acid is preferably oleic acid. Iron oxide particles such as gamma-Fe2O3 particles are used as the ferromagnetic powder and a mixture of two or more kinds of resins such as polyurethane and PVC is used as the binder.
