A remote transmission and reception method and device for the remote transmission of video images consisting of a series of pixels, each pixel or group of pixels having a greyscale value defined in an analog manner by a given voltage value, wherein the analog voltage value is converted into a binary word whose digital value is a function of said voltage. The method comprises generating a pulse having a length which is a function of said digital value, said pulse consisting of two portions, i.e. a first pulse portion with a length unrelated to the greyscale value of the pixel of interest, and a second pulse portion with a length dependent on said greyscale value, and adjusting the length of the first pulse portion according to the desired overall pulse frequency.
