PURPOSE:To simplify the device configuration, to reduce the processing time attended with signal recording and to reduce number of recording media by coding left eye use and right eye use video signals into one system of stereoscopic video signals. CONSTITUTION:A right eye use video signal R and a left eye use video signal L having a parallax are fed to a selection circuit 3, in which either of them is alternately selected in the unit of fields or frames to generate one system of synthesis video signals arranged in time series. The video signals are fed to a coding circuit 6 comprising a coder 7 and a motion compensation circuit 8, in which the signal is coded with high efficiency. The coded synthesis video signal is recorded on a recording medium 10. |
