METHOD AND DEVICE FOR EVALUATING PICTURE

PURPOSE:To provide a picture evaluating device capable of quickly and stably evaluating resolution. CONSTITUTION:The picture data of a printed picture are inputted (S140) and projected data on a position including a picture pattern in a specified area out of the inputted picture data are found out (S141). The maximum and minimum values of plural data adjacent to the projected data in the area are successively found out (S146, S149) and differences between the maximum and minimum values are calculated (S150). The minimum value of the calculated differences is calculated (S153) and the picture data are evaluated based upon the minimum value of the differences.
