METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PAGING

PURPOSE:To facilitate individual calling from a center by reading mechanically an identification code used for distinguishing each user and applying registration processing to the code to lend a radio receiver to lots of unspecified users. CONSTITUTION:A patient submits a prescription to a window of a pharmacist's office in a hospital after a medical examination. The window of the pharmacist' s office selects a registration mode from a menu of a personal computer and reads an optional bar code and a bar code of a pocket beeper adhered on the prescription and lends a pocket beeper to the patient. Thus, the registration of the user is made. The patient awaits calling of the pocket beeper at an optional location in the hospital. When the remedy is prepared, the window of the pharmacist's office selects a call mode from the menu of the personal computer and reads the bar code of the prescription and calls the pocket beeper automatically. The called patient returns the pocket beeper to the window of the pharmacist's office and receives the remedy.
