Windscreens or other transparent windows for vehicles are secured in place by applying to the margin of the window or aperture a strip of material, pressing the window into place while the strip is soft, and then curing to a resilient state by passing a current of electricity through a wire embedded in the strip. The strip is made by extrusion of a composition of low molecular weight chloroprene, an aldehyde amine accelerator, an anti-oxidant, liquid cashew phenolic resin, hexamine, benzoic acid, "Buna" (Registered Trade Mark), litharge, carbon black, china clay, and asbestos fibre around a resistance wire. |
