PURPOSE: To provide a high quality lithographic printing plate by using an image forming material contg. a photopolymerizable composition which is placed on a hydrophilic substrate, in a dry process. CONSTITUTION: This manufacture comprises: (a) a stage for exposing an image forming material contg. a hydrophobic photopolymerizable composition which is placed on a hydrophilic substrate so that the composition can be irradiated with an actinic rays and forms the upper layer of the image forming material or a layer adjacent to a temporary protective layer of the material, according to an image or information; (b) a stage for removing the temporary protective layer from the image forming material after the exposure of the hydrophobic photopolymerizable composition and thereafter, laminating the composition on a receiver layer which is a thermal adhesion layer that is capable of adhering to the composition and has a 10 to 100 deg.C glass transition temp. (Tg) and a >3,000 poise melt viscosity, a pressure-sensitive adhesion layer, paper or poly-α-olefin coated paper; and (c) a stage for peeling the receiver material off from the hydrophilic substrate to transfer the composition to the receiving material according to the pattern. |
