PURPOSE:To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery where an approximately uniform battery reaction is carried out at the time of use of a large current so that cycle performance can be enhanced even under heavy load electric charging/discharging conditions. CONSTITUTION:A cross-sectional area AC of a winding intermediate portion of each current collecting lead member of a band-like negative electrode 1 and a band-like positive electrode 2, which are used for a spiral electrode, is set larger than those of other two points, i.e., a cross-sectional area A5 of a winding starting portion and a cross-sectional area AE of a winding ending portion. Preferably, a ratio AC/AS or AC/AE of the cross-sectional areas of the current collecting lead members ranges from 1.5 to 2.0. |
