PURPOSE:To optically perform data communication between a camera and an external equipment by providing plural optical elements. CONSTITUTION:This invention is applied to the camera provided with a photoreflector 5 for detecting the bar code of a cartridge 3 and a CPU. When a dummy cartridge connected to a personal computer is loaded in a cartridge chamber and the back cover of the camera is closed, the CPU simultaneously starts a light projecting element and a photodetector of the photoreflector 5. When the photodetector receives an optical signal in a specified time after they are started, the CPU discriminates the optical signal. In the case of discriminating that it is a command for the data communication, the data communication with the personal computer is performed. |
