PURPOSE:To obtain a reflector for a liquid crystal display device having high glossiness and high diffuse reflectance and capable of protecting a reflection surface, and to constitute a reflection type liquid crystal display device by using the reflector. CONSTITUTION:A reflection layer 2 is formed on a substrate 1; and a low- refractive index transparent dielectric film 3 whose optical film thickness is about lambda0/4 (where lambda0 is the design wavelength) and a high-refractive index transparent dielectric film 4 whose optical film thickness is about lambda0/4 are laminated on the reflection layer 2 in this order. |
