PURPOSE:To obtain a large screen of an excellent which has high display quality by providing a 2nd microlens which combine light beams converged from pixels of R, G, and B through 1st microlenses provided corresponding to picture elements, and then eliminating deterioration in display quality such as a stripe pattern resulting from an array and a defect of a black mask part which is conspicuous as a mesh pattern. CONSTITUTION:This projection type color liquid crystal device is equipped with a transparent type liquid crystal panel provided with many pixel electrodes, a liquid crystal panel 5 having color filters 4 corresponding to the respective pixel electrodes, a light source which lights the transmission type liquid crystal panel, and a projection lens. Further, a 1st microlens array substrate 16 which has the 1st microlenses 6 corresponding to the respective pixel electrodes and a 2nd microlens array substrate 17 having the 2nd microlens 7 which puts lights one pixel unit, converged by the 1st microlenses 6, one over another and projects them as parallel light. |
