The plant in used in the power industry, in the timber and food industries when heat-exchange processes occur. It recuperates the waste heat and improves the scrubbing of the exhaust gases and fumes solid particles. The installation consists of a boiler (1) connected to a exhaust fumes fan (2) and with a contact heat mass exchanger (3) consisting of two zones at an angle of 180° towards each other. In the first zone, called "active", a sprinkler (4) and "active" filler (5) in the form of a manifold are fitted one above the other. In the second zone, called "passive", the following are arranged successively along the course of the gases: filling of grids (6), a second sprinkler (7) and drip pan (8). A mixing chamber for the exhaust gases (9) connected to a gas heater (10) bypass fume duct (11) and a chimney (12) are fitted at the outlet of the heat mass exchanger (3). The bottom of the heat mass exchanger (3) is connected, by a duct, to a section settling tank (13) which is connected, by a pipe system and pumps (14) to the two sprinklers of the plant (4 & 7).
