PURPOSE: To provide a lamp design with which a small fluorescent lamp can reliably be assembled with a low defect rate. CONSTITUTION: This single ended low pressure discharge lamp 10 comprises an Edison base 30 and is provided with at least one U-shaped fluorescent tube 13 having electrode leads 12 to be connected with an installation structure 14 installed in a housing 20. The housing 20 comprises an upper end member 24 to install the fluorescent tube 13 in, a connection part 22 to attach a screw base 30 to, and a supporting part 21 formed between the upper end member 24 and the connection part 22. Lead-in wires 60, 60' for making automatic assembly of lamps are connected with the screw base 30 out of the installation structure 14. A first lead-in wire 60' is connected with a center mass part 32 of the screw base 30 and on the other hand, a second lead-in wire 60 is at first passed through a guiding aperture 40 formed in the housing 20 between the supporting part 21 and the connection part 22 and then connected with a sleeve 31 of the base 30. |
