The toothbrush has a bristle head which is releasably fixed to the handle via a coupling which supported in a plane bearing in the handle. The plane bearing for the coupling element (84) consists of a coupling housing (64). This is reversibly fastened inside an elastic sealing element (32), at a distance to sides (72,48,50) of the hand grip (28). A rear section (40) of the sealing element is fitted non-movably into an aperture (38) of the grip. A front wider section (42) of the sealing element extends between a front end face (46) of the handle, facing the brush, and a front wall (54) of the coupling housing, which forms the coupling end of the handle.
