Plastic component mfr., esp. switch or touch keys

In a process for mfg. a component with a base part (7) having a relief-like surface and a covering film joined to it, the base part (7) is injected onto the back of the flat covering film (2) which is transparent but with at least a partial colour coating. The raised or recessed relief area of the base (7) extends through a cut-out (2a) in the covering film (2) with the cut-out edge (2a*) surrounding the transition from the flat to the raised or recessed section of the base (7). For mfr. of a variety of products, esp. switches, keyboard keys. The covering film is fairly simple to mfr. and is easily joined to the base part.
