ONE-WAY MOBILE TELEPHONE NETWORK CELL EXPANDER DEVICE, AND RELATED NETWORK

A one-way mobile telephone network cell expander device, and the related network, are disclosed. Each expander device includes a two-channel retransmitter circuit (0) for a mobile station/base station channel in a first frequency band and a base station/mobile station channel in a second frequency band. A first directional transceiver antenna (1) is linked to the retransmitter circuit (0) to provide reception in the first frequency band and transmission in the second frequency band for the mobile station/base station channel, and a second directional transceiver antenna (2) is linked to the retransmitter circuit (0) to provide reception in the second frequency band and transmission in the first frequency band for the base station/mobile station channel. The antennas (1 and 2) are electromagnetically separate, and the axis of the radiation pattern of the first and second antennas lies in two substantially parallel vertical planes. Said device is useful for providing GSM-type mobile telephone networks.
