Bi:component air textured yarn for sewing threads

A bicomponent yarn of synthetic polymer has core filaments and effect filaments which form surface loops. The effect filaments comprise at least 25% wt. pref. 30-55% wt., and the yarn is finer than 100 dtex. Also claimed is the manufacturing process of feeding two or more strands of synthetic polymer at different speeds to a texturing jet and intermingling them to form surface loops. The bicomponent yarn is drawn off under tension to reduce the size of the surface loops and stabilise it, after which it is heat set to the claimed yarn structure.
