<p>A centrifuge provided with a basket (10), the basket (10) having laterally disposed steps (12) by being formed of a plurality of substantially trapezoidal shaped sections. As particulate material, such as washed small coal or refuse, rotates in the basket, the particulate material traverses the steps (12) causing the material to undergo an enhanced dewatering operation. Fins (13) (Fig.4) are optionally provided to create an airflow which assists in the transport of the particulate material.</p> |
