Li-aluminosilicate glass doped with Cr and Cu is suitable for storing latent formers with the aid of an irradiating process by forming colloidal Cu. The glass comprises (in wt.%):65-77 SiO2, 5-22 Al2O3, 5-15 Li2O, 0-5 Na2O, 0-5 K2O, 0.1-0.25 CuO, 0.08-0.2 CrO2, 0-0.1 SnO, 0.2-0.5 Sb2O3, and 0-0.2 reducing agent.
